State Bank of Travancore has opened a farmers' club.
The bank is promoting the concept of farmers' club as a grassroots level forum for farmers to acquire ideas on efficient farm practices. The bank will sponsor classes by farm experts at the club and help the club with loans to procure implements and materials for common use. The bank's network of farmers' clubs is spreading to more rural centres.
