Motorola showcased the new technology last week at the National Cable TV Show in Atlanta and the previous week at the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association show in Las Vegas.

The key to Follow Me TV technology is communications between wireless devices and the digital video recorder/cable TV set-top box at home. Initially, the service would be between Motorola phones and DVRs, but eventually the software could be used with devices made by other manufacturers.

Follow Me also enables consumers to call up a TV directory on their cell phones to schedule recordings at home.

"Some of the experiences we're demonstrating are as simple as being able to watch the big TV in the family room and then hitting a button to send the program to another TV in a bedroom. We have more advanced experiences in which people can view what's on their DVR (digital video recorder) over their next-generation RAZR (phone) or other devices.
