A technology startup is offering answers to questions from business travelers who have no access to the internet, writes The New York Times (via MediaBuyerPlanner). Users can register at AskMeNow and download free software onto a cellphone or BlackBerry. They can then call a toll-free number at any time to ask a question and receive an answer via text message, which contains an ad message at the end.

Users can ask about the weather, movie times, 411 listings, sports scores, directions, horoscopes, flight information, stock quotes. An "AskMeAnything" feature allows questions on trivia, history and unusual facts. Text answers, not merely links, are sent "within minutes," according to the website.

I was intrigued and visited their site. I was extremely keen to understand, what's the revenue model for this service. Here's what I found in their website:

AskMeNow's Automated Service allows you to ask quick questions by calling in to 1-888-EZ-ASKME (392-7563), from your cell phone or using the easily downloadable application. Within seconds you can get 411 listings, driving directions, check traffic, find out your horoscope, see what time a movie is playing, get your local weather forecast, check out the latest news and sports scores, find a hotel and much more all for FREE.*

Well it is really not FREE , it is here for you to decide:

*standard minutes and text messaging charges apply
**AskMeAnything questions require a $0.49 fee that is automatically charged to the user's cell phone bill.
