Kathy Sierra has this very nice post on a simple and easy way to develop breakthrough ideas. She uses the metaphor of audio equalizer and how it could be used laterally in generating ideas. I see it as a brilliant method to rejig or enhance customer value, customer experience and drive product innovation. Take a look:
